Emelin Martinez, a Family Nurse Practitioner and graduate from the University of New Mexico with dual masters degrees in Primary Care and Southwest Studies, will be a guest presenter at the next SLV Lean in Lunch! In addition to working with Valley-Wide Health Systems she has also worked for the University of Colorado Department of Preventive Medicine on research projects involving diabetes in children throughout
Colorado and families in the San Luis Valley. Within the past year she assumed the position of Assistant Chief Medical Officer for Valley-Wide and is involved in continuous quality improvement and population health management. Her practice is located at Sierra Blanca Medical Center.
