Valley-Wide Health Systems and La Puente share a 24-year history with the Share the Magic Holiday Gala. Originally, the event was called the Charity Ball, which began as a small event and quickly grew into one of the San Luis Valley’s most popular holiday traditions. The Gala raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years to support La Puente services and often represented the start of the holiday season for residents of the Valley. Not only is this event essential to the services La Puente provides, it also gave both Valley-Wide and La Puente the opportunity to share their missions and visions while enabling the community to connect with friends in the holiday spirit of giving.
Another great community tradition, planted in the spring of 2004, was the holiday production at the Adams State Theatre. What began as a conversation quickly became a popular holiday tradition and one of the most sought after tickets in town. In 2008, ASU and the Theatre partnered with Valley-Wide and La Puente. Share the Magic evolved into a community celebration during the premier night of the holiday show with all proceeds supporting La Puente. Last year alone raised nearly $54,000! As the partnerships between Adams State, Valley-Wide, and La Puente continue to grow, “Share the Magic” remains the premier holiday fundraising event in the San Luis Valley.
