Cejka Executive Search has been exclusively retained by Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc., a national leader in providing comprehensive, community-based health care, to assist in the recruitment of an innovative leader to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Headquartered in Alamosa, Colorado, Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. (Valley-Wide) is a private, non-profit, Community/Migrant Health Center governed by a volunteer community board. Established in 1976, Valley-Wide has fourteen primary health care delivery sites strategically located throughout multiple rural counties in Southern Colorado. These full-service clinics are complemented by eight dental clinics, four physical therapy clinics, and numerous ancillary health services to address routine and/or complex needs of the patient populations and communities served.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President and CEO will be a visionary leader who will provide overall oversight and management of Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc., ensuring the implementation of the organization’s mission and guiding the development and execution of strategic and operational plans. The President and CEO will collaborate closely with the Board to advance strategic initiatives and assure optimal financial performance, will secure grant funding, and will foster an emphasis on the quality of the services provided. The President and CEO will promote a culture and a high-functioning team that are mission-oriented and patient-centric, will identify growth opportunities and form collaborative partnerships with other healthcare or allied professional organizations to further meet the needs of patients, will institute and apply best practices based on national benchmarks, and will represent Valley-Wide in the community, with government agencies, and on a statewide, regional and national scale.
Valley-Wide serves three regions in Southern Colorado, the San Luis Valley, parts of the Lower Arkansas Valley, and Fremont County. Each Region includes its unique attractions and beauty. As mentioned above, Valley-Wide is headquartered in Alamosa in the San Luis Valley and is located along the Rio Grande River in South-Central Colorado. Alamosa offers spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. A few hours’ drive from Denver, Colorado Springs, Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque, Alamosa offers abundant outdoor activities including hiking, biking, golfing, skiing, climbing, camping, and sandboarding at the Great Dunes National Park and also a variety of cultural activities.
Successful candidates will have at least five years of proven health care leadership experience and expertise in all facets of a community health center system. The CEO will have a strong business acumen, demonstrated success in managing organizations that serve culturally and socioeconomically diverse patient populations, and an appreciation for the challenges associated with rural health care. Master’s degree is highly desirable.
