The Barkin’ Dog Duathlon took place in Cherry Creek State Park and was a 5k run, 30k bike, 5k run format. This was the 12th year that Joshua Merrick, PT, DPT had participated and as usual the event drew a mix of participants from first timers to those competing in there 100th plus multi-sport event.
I was happy to have a narrow lead off the first run as you never know where your running legs are coming off the winter months. More confident in my bike leg I was able to stretch the lead and allow for a more relaxed final 5k run to the finish for the win.
The Brakin’ Dog Du is an awesome event and a great event for people looking to try there first multi-sport event. After 12 straight years Josh will be back next year and would love to see more San Luis Valley participants join in on the fun. Congratulations Josh!
