The Kaiser Permanente Loan Repayment Program is a very competitive program; over 120 applications were received, but only 25 applicants were awarded. The purpose of the program is to support retention of high performing clinical support staff serving in underserved areas. Colorado Community Health Network chose Marisa’s application because they were impressed with her commitment to serving the underserved. Some of the pieces of information that made Marisa stand out are:
- Her personal experiences growing up in a rural and underserved area and as a result of that experience a desire to give back and provide education to those who need it most.
- Her unwavering commitment to medically underserved and migrant populations, evidenced by Marisa’s involvement in preventive health education programs, and the annual efforts of the Valley-Wide Eye Clinic.
- Her intention to further her education by obtaining a BSN in an effort to provide more care for the medically underserved.
We feel honored to recognize you through the Kaiser Permanente Loan Repayment program, and again, thank you for all you do for VWHS, and for your patients.
You are truly having an impact on people who need it most.
