Valley-Wide Health Systems is pleased to announce that Javier Martinez has been named the organization’s Chief Financial Officer.
Martinez, who joined the Valley-Wide team in 2014, has most recently served as the company’s Director of Finance. During this time, he has overseen both the organization’s Billing and Coding departments.
“I am excited for this opportunity and continuing to work with all individuals across Valley-Wide to deliver on the promises of our mission,” Martinez said.
Some of the top priorities for Martinez as he transitions into this new role include continuing to improve Valley-Wide’s financial strength through the leveraging of grants and maximizing payer reimbursements. Additionally, completing a five-year capital plan to guide Valley-Wide based on the organization’s top goals and priorities.
“I am pleased to announce that Javier Martinez was selected to serve as the Chief Financial Officer,” CEO Gigi Darricades stated. “Javier received his Bachelor of Science from Adams State University in 2008 with an emphasis in Accounting and Management Information Systems. Javier then worked for the City of Alamosa, most recently as the Financial Analyst for the City. In 2009, Javier joined the Finance Department of Valley-Wide as Assistant Controller. Most recently, Javier was serving Valley-Wide as the Director of Finance.”
Martinez also acknowledged that teamwork is both a priority and an aspect he is proud to have been a part of during his tenure.
“I am most proud of the teamwork we share across all of the financial departments: billing, coding, purchasing, payroll, and accounting,” he explained. “In the relatively short time that I have been with Valley-Wide, I have seen each department grow and be more responsive through teamwork.”
Martinez will begin in the CFO role on August 20th.
