The Board of Directors of Valley-Wide Health Systems has selected Jania Arnoldi as the organization’s new President and Chief Executive Officer. The appointment culminates an extensive, nationwide search for the organization’s newest leader. Arnoldi will begin February 25, 2019.
Arnoldi brings over 19 years of experience in healthcare leadership, most recently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Sun Life Family Health Center in Casa Grande, Arizona. Sun Life Family Health Center has a similar profile to that of Valley-Wide Health Systems, as it operates as a community health center with integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services across 14 locations. Throughout her professional experiences, Arnoldi has also served on several boards and committees, including as the Northwest Fire Department Bond Committee Chair and the Chairman of the Arizona Alliance of Community Health Centers – Financial Officer’s Group. In 2010, Arnoldi was named a “40 Under 40” Winner by the Arizona Daily Star.
“It is my pleasure to introduce Ms. Jania Arnoldi, Valley-Wide Health System’s new President and Chief Executive Officer,” Frances Valdez, President of the Board of Directors, said. “Our Board is very pleased with Ms. Arnoldi and believe that she is a good fit for Valley-Wide. We are excited to welcome Ms. Arnoldi and family to the San Luis Valley.”
Valley-Wide’s current President and CEO, Gigi Darricades, announced her retirement this past May after serving the organization for seven years. Under Darricades’ leadership, Valley-Wide has moved to an integrated model of delivering healthcare through medical, dental, behavioral health, physical therapy, and pharmacy services, as well as enhanced its financial position in the healthcare marketplace.
“I appreciate the dedication and work exhibited by Valley-Wide’s Board of Directors in selecting Jania Arnoldi as the new President and CEO for our organization,” Darricades said. “I believe that Jania will fit in with Valley-Wide and will provide the leadership needed to guide the organization as it navigates the challenges that arise, especially with regard to innovations in reimbursement. She has extensive experience and this will benefit Valley-Wide in many ways. She is assuming leadership of Valley-Wide as it continues to expand its offerings across the San Luis Valley, Canon City and the Arkansas Valley and demonstrates her interest in enhancing her health care management skills by pursuing further education.”
Arnoldi is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Healthcare Administration from AT Still University. She has a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in Tucson, Arizona and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.
“I am grateful to the Valley-Wide Board of Directors for the opportunity to lead this great organization, made up of dedicated and talented individuals who work together to provide the best healthcare services possible to the communities of Southern Colorado,” Arnoldi said. “My family, including my husband and two of my six children, are excited to join the Alamosa community. We look forward to exploring everything Alamosa and Southern Colorado has to offer, especially the outdoor activities. I am excited to be part of the Valley-Wide team and continue the work of making Valley-Wide a great place for our patients and employees.”
