Dr. Joe Viviano is a New Jersey native from a big, loud and loving Italian family. He’s looking forward to developing as a family doctor in Colorado while incorporating his love for sport (triathalon), nature and nutrition into his career and community integration. He also plans to bring a little bit of his family background to his patient’s experience in their medical journey.
Joe chose the Southern Colorado Family Medicine/Alamosa Rural Training Track residency program because the residents he met while rotating with the group on an audition demonstrated the skills he wishes to develop as a resident physician. Additionally, the attendings and program directors displayed an apparent interest and commitment to the development of their residents as doctors while also facilitating their autonomy as human beings who have aspects of their lives outside of their career that positively affects the doctors they are becoming. He is very excited to bring health and happiness to his future patients.
He is especially interested in Primary care, longitudinal care, natural medicine, conservative medicine, community involvement, community health, sports medicine, sports performance, exercise as medicine, patient-centered care.
