As part of our continued support of organizations that serve our community members and particularly because of the wonderful service the Arkansas Valley Hospice provides to clients in the lower Arkansas Valley, Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. has joined the ranks of supporters and is a proud sponsor of the 4th Annual COCO Century Bike Tour that will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Not only will you see our name on the t-shirts that riders wear that day, the La Junta Clinic will provide our conference room for the training of all volunteers for the event. Volunteers will be trained in different areas to keep riders safe whether it be staying hydrated, watching for traffic, check in times, etc.
Additionally, Valley-Wide staff members have volunteered to host the first station providing water and fresh fruit to bicyclists when they begin their rides at 6:00 a.m. Because Valley-Wide believes in staying healthy by movement and healthy eating habits and because this event is so relevant to the community, not only are we are happy to participate, we have a total of four employees that will participate in this event and we are happy to cheer them on.
The 4th Annual COCO Century Bike Tour through Crowley and Otero counties will be held on June 6, 2015. Participants from Colorado and adjoining states will participate in the tour, which will be geared for all levels of bikers – beginners, intermediate, and advanced.
All proceeds from the tour, after expenses are covered, will be donated to Arkansas Valley Hospice, based in La Junta. Arkansas Valley Hospice was established over 29 years ago to provide care to individuals in Crowley, Otero, and Bent counties that have a terminal illness and has since greatly expanded its services and coverage area due to community needs. The organization is greatly dependent on donations to provide additional services and programs.
Date: Saturday, June 6 @ 6:00 a.m.
