The Colorado Business Reads kicked off with a generous donation from Reach Out and Read Director, Judy Duarte on behalf of VWHS. Several hundred books were shared with the PALS Kids in Alamosa and were donated to the book drive.
All donated books stay in our community and go to families most in need of in-home libraries. In Alamosa County, the donated books will go to elementary schools and programs working with AmeriCorps members (La Puente – Adelante Family Services, Outreach Services Center, and PALS Children’s Program). In 2014, COLORADO BUSINESS READS collected and distributed 50,000 books statewide.
