The kids were all smiles at Career Day thanks in part to Dr. Sam Smith and Veronica Cruz, Dental Assistant sharing more about their professions.
Dr. Smith and Ms. Cruz were invited to speak to students at La Junta Primary School and shared information about their professions and about going to the dentist.
“We had a great time meeting the children from grades K-2 on Career Day,” said Dr. Smith. “We shared what our jobs entail, reviewed good oral hygiene tips, and read them a story about a boy losing his first tooth.”
The team brought their mascot, “Drago”, and students also had a chance to brush his teeth. They were also educated on the importance of brushing twice a day for two minutes.
“The children were very engaged and surprised us with their thoughtful questions,” explained Dr. Smith.
At the end of the presentation, kids received a dental goody bag and were all smiles.
