Dear Arkansas Valley Communities:
With the closing of one of the longest operating private healthcare facilities in the Arkansas Valley, Loma Vista Medical Center, many will soon need to find a new Primary Care Provider and Medical Home. As a Community Health Center, Valley-Wide Health Systems provides services to all community members, not just to low-income or underserved populations. Valley-Wide accepts all walks of life, all age groups, and most private and commercial insurances. Medicare, Medicaid, and CHP+ are also accepted. A sliding fee program is available for those who are uninsured. Valley-Wide clinics are located in Rocky Ford, La Junta and Las Animas.
Vernice Bautista, PA, will be joining Valley-Wide starting in January 2018. Patients who currently identify her as their Primary Care Provider are being transitioned into her practice at the La Junta Clinic. We are accepting new patients at all Valley-Wide sites. All providers are Board Certified Clinicians who focus on providing high quality care. Community members are welcomed to call or stop by one of the Valley-Wide locations to pick-up a new patient packet.
Chronic pain management is part of the scope of practice for Family Medicine Providers. Valley-Wide providers are available to see patients for the evaluation and management of their chronic pain needs. However, given the opioid epidemic ravaging our nation, Valley-Wide employs a comprehensive strategy to address chronic pain. The use of narcotic medications will be done very cautiously and may or may not be a part of the treatment regimen. It is the goal of Valley-Wide providers to taper each patient down to the lowest dose of narcotic medications possible to promote the safety of every patient and our communities as a whole.
