Whether you want to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, how much you eat and what you eat plays a significant role. Starting new fad diets in general does not produce results for most people. A person usually reverts back to their normal diet after feeling too hungry, feeling weak, or because of the expense of buying specific diet foods. It is more realistic to start a sensible diet that you can continue long-term for a healthy lifestyle change. To lose weight the goal is to burn excess calories that you intake into your body.

When planning a weight loss program set realistic goals for yourself, you don’t want to get discouraged. Get comfortable with reading food labels and avoid or limit foods with added sugars because consuming excess sugars turns into fat. Limit soda and juices, while labels on juices may state that they are 100% natural and no additives, juices are still loaded with a fair amount of sugar. Water is your best alternative, again if you desire flavor try adding fruit or cucumbers.

Overall, if you exercise at least 20 minutes a day or at least 10 minutes twice a day, enough to increase your heart rate and break a sweat, and stick to a low sugar, low carb diet, read your food and drink labels and select your food choices carefully, you will most likely see results and lose weight, or maintain your already healthy weight.
