Congratulations Marisa Atencio! Marisa has been selected to receive a Kaiser Permanente Educational Loan Repayment for Safety Net Clinical Support Staff Program loan repayment award in the amount of $10,000. The goal of this program is to support retention and recruitment of high performing clinical support staff committed to serving in underserved areas. CCHN is pleased to make this loan repayment to Marisa to reward her for her commitment to serving the underserved.
Marisa will pursue her BSN degree in the very near future, bringing a wealth of knowledge, additional leadership skills and evidence-based practice to the nursing arena at VWHS. Dr. Denise Trujillo stated “transitioning from Clinical Coordinator to the Assistant Director of Nursing was met with minimal challenges for Marisa. She demonstrates the drive to learn, the motivation to make changes, and the passion to share the knowledge gained with her peers. Generously awarded the loan repayment monies will give Marisa the opportunity to pursue a BSN degree, something she has been wanting to do for several years.” Now her dream can come true!
