On Saturday, Saguache held a Health and Safety Fair, hosted by H.E.A.R.T. of Saguache, a nonprofit health equity organization. HEART stands for Health Equity Action Resident Team. H.E.A.R.T. of Saguache is “committed to ending poverty and disengagement through education, increasing diversity, and creating equity throughout our community to secure a prosperous future.”
Valley-Wide Health Systems’ Mobile Clinic was at the event to provide free blood pressure checks and dental screenings to the public. Our booth also offered Financial Eligibility services and were also able to give away new children’s coats, and backpacks full of school supplies. Through our Reach Out and Read program, we were able to give away many children’s books and our Behavioral Health Provider set up a table where kids could participate in a fun activity.
It was a beautiful day for an event and our table drew a large crowd all day. We give special thanks to all our table staff, the supervisors who allowed their staff to participate in this event, and to Robert Martinez for driving the Mobile Clinic so excellently.
