Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. (Valley-Wide) is pleased to congratulate Senator Gail Schwartz who was recently awarded the distinction of Community Health Champion Legislator by the Colorado Community Health Network (CCHN) on behalf of Colorado’s Community Health Centers, or CHCs.
CCHN hosted its annual Policy and Issues Forum in Denver where Gigi Darricades, President/CEO and La Junta physician Dr. Patrick Smith of Valley-Wide were able to congratulate Senator Schwartz in person!
Valley-Wide President/CEO Gigi Darricades stated “Senator Schwartz used to represent the San Luis Valley when we were a part of Senate District 5. She was an advocate for CHCs and could be counted on helping us make the right connections in the legislative process. Senator Schwartz co-sponsored Senate Bill 13-264 which appropriated funding for the development of rural residency training tracks with the goal of training and retaining new physicians in rural areas of the state.”
