Kimberly believes that even though her clients and families are doing their best, they can still be struggling. She helps determine and assist in breaking down barriers that are standing in the way of reaching goals. Assistance can include skills training, increasing self-awareness and self-responsibility, facilitating insight and change, challenging problematic thinking and way of relation to others, and providing coaching for parents/caregivers when they feel stuck. She has experience working with youth of all ages, and especially enjoys working with parents/caregivers and young adults. She has specialized training in DBT, CBT, PCIT and trauma focused therapies, and frequently uses combinations of each in her work with youth and families. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and eclectic.
Kimberly had lived in several states including Alaska, California and Virginia before moving to Lamar, Colorado in 1990. In her free time, Kimberly enjoys reading, baking, road trips and camping with her husband, and visiting her family across Colorado. She now resides in Dolores, Colorado and enjoys being outdoors!
