Luis Hernandez was born in Mexico and grew up in a small, Hispanic agricultural community in Idaho. At that time, his community’s only access to healthcare was through Physician Assistants, which inspired him to pursue a career as a PA so that he could provide great care for underserved Hispanic communities. Luis believes healthcare providers should strive to “practice what they preach” and improve their own health as a good example for their patients. He has a special interest in family medicine, rural and migrant healthcare, and vaccinations.
Luis enjoys living in the San Luis Valley, and spends most of his free time fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring new, remote areas. He loves to try new foods, especially desserts – but in moderation of course!
