Michael Tysen Nickle, DO

Michael Tysen Nickle, DO

Dr. Michael “Tysen” Nickle was born and raised in northern Utah in a close-knit blue-collar family. From an early age he nurtured a love for both people and the outdoors. After high school, he moved to Arkansas for two years where he learned to speak Spanish and worked with the immigrant community which he says was one of the most treasured experiences of his life. He continues to make a special effort to serve the Spanish-speaking community wherever he goes.

After his time in Arkansas, Dr. Nickle returned to Utah and received an undergraduate degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology from BYU. He then attended and graduated from medical Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine’s southern Utah campus where he developed a passion for Osteopathic Manual Treatment (OMT), pain medicine, treatment of anxiety and depression, and preventative medicine. These interests naturally led him to practice Family Medicine. He completed his first year of residency in Publo, CO and is now continuing his training at Alamosa Family Medical Center for the next two years.

In his free time, Dr. Nickle enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife, backpacking, hiking, rowing, skiing, climbing, canoeing, and amateur photography. He also loves learning about art history, playing the piano and spending time with family.
