As a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Michelle Helfer enjoys being able to help her patients, making sure to treat everyone how she would want her family and friends to be treated. She began her nursing and nurse practitioner career in Upstate New York with the University of Rochester, becoming an FNP in 2017. Michelle has gained experience in the operating room, as well as inpatient cardiology, family medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery.
She and her husband were born and raised in Upstate New York but were drawn to the beauty of the San Luis Valley after living and working in Vail, Colorado for a couple of years. They decided to make the move towards a more rural lifestyle. In her spare time, Michelle loves to ski, hike, camp, golf, and travel to new places. A fun fact about her: she holds dual citizenship in the United States and Ireland.
