Dr. Tyson Kinnick’s goal is to treat patients as family members and educate them about their medical care, including why certain screenings and/or treatments are necessary. As a provider, he is always striving to be better than the day before. Along with being a Physician Assistant, Tyson is also a trained cellular electrophysiologist research scientist. He chose a change in career paths because he wanted to make a difference in patient’s lives on a daily basis. Tyson’s areas of expertise include Men’s Health, Best Vitelliform macular dystrophy and inherited eye diseases. He also enjoys altitude medicine and physiology.
Tyson was born and raised in Arizona. He chose to practice healthcare in Rural Colorado because of the plethora of diversity and need, which is one of the reasons that he got into medicine. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys fishing, hiking, backpacking, hunting, and leather-work including saddle repairs, sheaths and purses. Tyson also raced bicycles for 10 years! In 2004, as a rookie, he completed the Furnace Creek 508 endurance ultra-distance race in California. The event is a no drafting event of a distance of 508 miles and 35,000 feet of climbing. Contestants must finish in under 48 hours.
