VWHS WIC staff enjoyed sharing information at the 2016 SummerFest on the Rio at Cole Park in Alamosa. A sample WIC food package for a child valued at $50 per month was on display as well as various breast pumps available to WIC participants. WIC (Women, Infants and Children) is a nutrition program that provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy food and other services free of charge to families who qualify. New WIC offices are now located in San Luis and Antonito as well as Alamosa, Center and Monte Vista. For more information about WIC services in the San Luis Valley, call 719-589-5860.
