Dr. Kristina Steinberg was picked to sit on a panel of experts on women’s well-being and success at Adam State University’s Women in the Dark Event, as part of the Fourth Annual Adams State University Women’s Week. This was an event where individuals could ask anonymous questions on sex, relationships, spirituality, health, safety, legal issues, women’s rights and careers. Other Panelists included:

- Kay Lewis, Assistant Director of Civic Engagement and Career Services

- Angela Sillis-Green, Tu Casa Prevention Education Specialist/Youth Therapist
- Lis Tomlin, Counseling and Career Services Director.
The event was sponsored by Walmart and Valley-Wide Health Systems (Valley-Wide). Valley-Wide was able to be part of the event by handing out free goodie bags, brochures and be there to answer questions about our services to Adams State students.
Dr. Steinberg has been providing family medicine within Valley-Wide since 1986. Dr. Steinberg’s professional interests include Obstetrics, Women’s Health and Pediatrics.
Dr. Steinberg is a volunteer with Friends of the Alamosa Library and the Rio Grande Farm Park. She joins other cat enthusiasts in caring for feral colonies in the area. She and her spouse, who is also a local physician, have a small ranch which they have placed under a conservation easement as their legacy towards open space in the valley. They feel that they are part of the community here ,and are glad they have made this their personal and professional home. She also enjoys hiking, gardening, cross-country skiing and yoga.
